Drug Uses
Atarax is used for relief of anxiety and stress motivated by psychoneurosis and organic disease states in which anxiety is manifested. It may be used for other situations as recommended by your physician.
How Taken
Atarax comes in tablets to take in orally. The ordinary daily dosage for adults is 50-100 mg. Children over 6 years should take Atarax 50-100mg daily in divided doses. Daily dose for children under 6 years of age is 50mg divided into couple of dosages.
Additional Information
Atarax may cause dizziness. These effects may worsen if Atarax is taken with alcohol or certain other drugs. Take Atarax with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you react to this pill. If your symptoms don't improve or if they worsen, call your physician. Atarax should be used only by the patient for whom it has been prescribed. Do not take less or more or take it more often than recommended by your physician.
