Drug Uses
Atarax is indicated for relief of anxiety and stress caused by psychoneurosis and organic disease states in which anxiety is manifested. It can be used for other situations as advised by your physician.
How Taken
Atarax comes in pills to take in orally. The usual daily dose for adults is 50-100 mg. Children over 6 years should take Atarax 50-100mg daily in divided dosages. Daily dosage for children under 6 years of age is 50mg parted into couple of doses.
More Information
Atarax may cause giddiness. These effects can worsen if Atarax is taken with alcohol or certain other drugs. Use Atarax with caution. Don't drive or perform other possibly dangerous tasks until you know how you react to this drug. If your symptoms don't improve or if they worsen, call your physician. Atarax should be used only by the patient for whom it has been directed. Do not take less or more or take it more often than ordered by your doctor.
